Dave Wardrop

As Winnipeg’s Chief Transportation and Utilities Officer (CTUO), Dave Wardrop provides leadership to the City’s Public Works Department, Water and Waste Department, Winnipeg Transit, Winnipeg Parking Authority, and Winnipeg Fleet Management Agency.  With a team of 3,800 employees he oversees the delivery of numerous City services that range from water supply and environmental services to transit, roadways, and parks for the City of Winnipeg.

Before serving as the City’s CTUO, Mr. Wardrop spent 12 years serving as the Director of Winnipeg Transit where he successfully led the expansion of transit service delivery and ridership for the City of Winnipeg, and introduced rapid transit service to the community with the on-budget, and on-schedule, completion of the Southwest Transitway.  Prior to Winnipeg Transit, Dave worked for 18 years in the Water and Waste industry, where after time as a design engineer his responsibilities included the management of Winnipeg’s sewerage, drainage, and flood control operations.

In additional to having earned his Professional Engineering and Chartered Professional Accountant designations, Dave has completed Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Engineering, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Manitoba.
