Sandra Oakley


Sandra Oakley was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Pointe du Bois, Manitoba. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba Labour Management Certificate Program (1983).

Sandra started her career with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in 1981 as a National Servicing Representative and has held a number of roles in Winnipeg and Ottawa. From October 2002 until retiring in March 2013, Sandra was the Regional Director, CUPE – Manitoba Region.

She was the United Way Winnipeg (UWW) Campaign Chair in 2014 and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees and the Past Chairs Advisory Committee. She is also Chair of the Board of Directors for the Community Unemployed Help Centre; Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Manitoba Federation of Non-Profit Organizations Sector Council; and volunteers for the Living on the Edge Poverty Simulations.

Sandra’s hobbies include cross-country skiing, cooking, reading, walking and photography.
