Connie Walker

United Way Winnipeg

Connie Walker is the President and CEO of United Way Winnipeg (UWW).

Connie first joined UWW as its Vice-President of Community Investment in 2008. She was a key driver of United Way’s focus on collective impact, collaborating with community partners on Peg (a community indicator system for our city), a long-term plan to end homelessness, and stewarding donor investments in a stable network of critical programs and services.

Connie began her career as a public health nurse in the inner city. Before joining United Way, she managed the operation audits in the City of Winnipeg’s Audit Department, and more recently was the Manager of Strategic Initiatives in the City’s Chief Administrative Office Secretariat where she worked closely with the Mayor and Council and the City’s CAO and Department Directors to lead corporate planning and strategic initiatives. Connie played leadership roles in developing the City’s New Deal initiative, the City Charter (replacing the City of Winnipeg Act), a Federal gas-tax sharing agreement and the implementation of a $43 million investment in recreational infrastructure.

Connie has an MBA from the University of Manitoba and is a graduate of the Community Shift Executive Development Program at the Ivey School of Business.
