Ray Karasevich

Ray Karasevich became President and CEO of MITT in fall 2017, and is today responsible for leading MITT toward the goals outlined in its Strategic Plan and the priorities areas more recently formalized in MITT’s Strategic Compass:
To deliver excellence in: Teaching and Learning, Student and Campus Experience, Relationships, and Staff Development. Guiding these efforts is our foundational value set that ensure we are: industry driven, student focused, and sustainable.

Ray’s presidency advances his leadership role at the college, which began in 2014 as Vice President, Academic. In this role, Ray oversaw programming for domestic and international students, enhancement of academic operations and program development, and led MITT’s effort to provide secondary and post-secondary learners direct-entry career education.

Prior to joining MITT, Ray held diverse leadership roles—including Secretary to the Council on Post-Secondary Education, and Executive Director of Industry Workforce Development—where he developed his skills at strategic relationship building with partners in industry, government and education.

In addition to his professional experience, Ray holds a doctorate in higher education leadership from Western University and he has completed the Queen’s University Strategy and Leadership program.

Ray served on the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce COVID-19 Recovery Council, where he helped provide advice to government on economic development and training responses to reboot Winnipeg and Manitoba’s economies in the wake of the global pandemic.

Within the post-secondary leadership world, Ray is an active contributor and thought leader on various advocacy papers for Manitoba’s Post Secondary Education sector and he is co-chair the Presidents’ Committee representing Manitoba PSEs along with David Docherty from Brandon University for the 2020-21 year.
