Dr. Sharon Macdonald

Dr. Sharon Macdonald began her medical education at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1972. She worked as a general practitioner in Nunavut and northern Manitoba for the J A Hildes Northern Medical Unit, but returned to specialty training in Public Health and Preventative Medicine. Since 1982, she has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Over the years, Dr. Macdonald has worked in Indigenous health care, public health, and community health service delivery systems. She is a long-time member of the Department of Community Health Sciences, College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. Dr. Macdonald was the Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, Community Health Services, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority from 2000-2006.
