Dr. Jim Mulvale

Dr. Jim Mulvale has been Dean of the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Manitoba since July 2013. Previous to this appointment, he spent fourteen years at the University of Regina, including time as Dept. Head of Justice Studies and Associate Dean of Social Work. His academic interests include poverty reduction, basic or guaranteed income, and the historical and theoretical foundations of social work.

He is Vice-Chair of the Basic Income Canada Network, and a member of the Social Policy Interest Group of the Canadian Association of Social Workers. Before embarking on his academic career, Jim worked in community development positions in the fields of developmental disability and community mental health in southwestern Ontario.
